Editorial and AI Policy

Plain answers about how the content on this site gets made, who makes it, and where AI fits.

Who is accountable

Every article published or updated under our current process carries the byline of Kern Campbell, a real person, because he read it, shaped it, and stands behind it. Older articles may carry the pen names our former writing teams used; those are labeled on their author pages, and each of those articles moves to Kern’s byline only after a complete verified rewrite.

What AI does here

AI helps research topics, check facts against manufacturer documentation, draft and tighten text, build our branded graphics, and keep 1,800 articles current. One person could not do that alone at a kitchen table.

What humans do here

The experiences are real and they are ours: the products we own, the tests at the pool and on the boat, the prices we track every morning. The standards are set by a human, the recommendations are made by a human, and every claim must survive a review that checks it against a named source before it ships.

What we will not do

No invented authors. No AI generated photos presented as real. No number a manufacturer never published. No article that exists for a search engine instead of a reader. The full testing standard is on our How We Test page.
