How Should You Clean AirPods Max?

If you want to clean or disinfect the AirPods Max, Apple suggests a dry, lint-free cloth. Using the wipes on the cushions will deteriorate the headphones over time. 

To remove a sticky material or liquid from the AirPods Max, a disinfectant wipe should be more than enough. You don’t need to use soap or water on the AirPods Max.

Are Apple AirPods Max Sweatproof?

Unfortunately, AirPods Max are not sweatproof. The Apple AirPods Max has no resistance to any sort of liquid or moisture, including sweat. So, these headphones really aren’t ideal for workouts, running, or jogging. 

If liquid enters the cushions of the headphones, it can damage them. It can also get inside the headphone through the speaker holes or charging port. The liquid inside the headphones may damage internal components, ruining the sound quality and reducing the lifespan of the AirPods Max. 

And since the AirPods Max cover your whole ears and your head as well, they can cause more sweating when compared to smaller earbuds like the Beats Fit Pro (on Amazon), which could be another reason not to use the AirPods Max while working out. 

As the AirPods Max doesn’t have an IP rating, it’s hard to predict how much sweat causes considerable damage to it. Therefore, the safest way to proceed is to avoid using the AirPods Max while working out, showering, swimming, and in the rain.
