Transfer Your PS4 Video Clips to Your iPhone With These Easy Tips
With the rise of the digital entertainment age, many PS4 gamers will likely want to show their friends their highlights or even upload their PS4 clips onto the internet. There are some very simple ways to do this, and all you need is an iPhone.
You can move clips from the PS4 to an iPhone either by downloading them from the official Playstation app, uploading them to Twitter from the console and then downloading them using a third party website, or by uploading them to a computer via a USB drive and then downloading them to your phone.
The PS4 makes it easy to both record gameplay clips and move them between platforms. Let’s take a closer look at the three methods of transferring PS4 clips to your iPhone and how to edit and share them.
Can You View PS4 Video Clips On Your iPhone?
Yes, there are a few different ways to view PS4 video clips on your iPhone, but first you need to make sure you’re getting the clips in the proper format.
Thankfully, the PS4 has a built-in feature for this. All PS4 controllers come with a button called the Share button. It goes exactly where a Select button would be on a PS3 controller.
This button gives you two different ways to record clips. The first is the simplest: by holding down the share button you can record anything that has happened in the last 30 minutes of gameplay. You can change how long these clips are by default in the capture settings.
The second is a simple record button, which starts recording when you select it and stops recording when you select it again. Both of these methods will result in clips being saved on your PSN account. But how can you view them on an iPhone?
In order to view these clips on your iPhone, you just need to download the official Playstation app. Once the app is downloaded, just log into the same PSN account that your PS4 is logged into. Once you’ve done this, simply go into the app, select Captures, and you should be able to view any clips you have taken with your PS4.
How to Transfer PS4 Video Clips to Your iPhone With a USB
When transferring PS4 video clips to your phone, one of the easiest methods to understand is using a USB drive. This will involve three steps: moving the clips from your PS4 to your USB drive, moving the clips from your USB drive to your computer, and finally moving them from your computer to your phone.
- Move your clips from the PS4 to your USB drive. In order to do this, first plug a supported USB drive into your PS4 via the USB ports on the front of the console.
- Locate the capture gallery in your applications and choose the clip you want to transfer. Press the Options button on your controller while hovering over the clip and then select “Copy to USB Storage.” Then select “Copy” and your clip should move to the USB drive.
- Plug the USB drive into your computer along with your phone. If you have a Windows PC, you may need the latest version of iTunes in order for your computer to access your phone’s files. Once you’ve done this, transfer the files over to your iPhone and you should be able to view the clips on your phone.
How to Transfer Video Clips Without a USB
There are two different methods that will allow you to transfer your PS4 clips to your iPhone without the use of any cords or USB drives. The first is the Playstation App that we mentioned earlier.
In the top right of any of your clips that you can watch on the Playstation App there should be a download button. Just hit the download button and the clip should download straight to your phone. This is by far the simplest method, but it won’t work for longer clips, as the app has limits.
If you can’t use the app for whatever reason, you can also upload your PS4 clips to Twitter via the PS4, and then download the clips to your phone off Twitter.
- Go to the Settings menu, select Account Management, and then choose Link with Other Services. Choose Twitter and sign into whatever Twitter account you want the clips uploaded to.
- Head to your Capture Gallery and select the clip you want to upload. Select Twitter and Share and it should upload the clip to your Twitter account. You’ll also have the option to trim your clips.
- Find the Twitter post on your phone’s internet browser and copy the URL to the tweet.
- Paste the URL into a website called twsaver.com. This website allows you to download videos from Twitter as long as you provide the URL.
- Press “Download” on the website and the clip should begin to download on your phone.
Can You Edit PS4 Clips on an iPhone?
Yes, this is extremely simple. The process you’d use to edit a PS4 clip on your iPhone is the exact same as you’d do to edit any video.
All you need to do is open the video in your Photos app and tap “Edit” in the top-right. This will allow you to trim some parts out of the video, crop it, add filters, and more.
In order to switch between editing settings, there’s a selection menu at the bottom of the app. This will allow you to edit things like color balance, crop the video, edit screen orientation, and more.
It is recommended that you play around with these settings in order to get a feel for what options you have and how they work.
