Best for most people: eero
An eero system is the one I would point a less techy friend or relative to when they just want WiFi that works.
The app walks you through setup in a few minutes, and the units quietly pass your devices to the nearest one as you move around. Mine replaced a router that got unreliable, and it has run for years without fuss.
The newest models use WiFi 7 and cover up to about 2,000 to 2,500 square feet per unit depending on the model, so a two or three pack blankets most homes. Many eero units also include Matter and Thread radios for smart home gear.
The tradeoff is price and simplicity. You pay more, and the app keeps deep settings light on purpose.

Best value: TP Link Deco
The TP Link Deco line is what I recommend when you want more for your money.
I run a Deco mesh across a 3,000 square foot house, and it has held up with no complaints. You get similar whole home coverage, more wired ports on many models, and more settings if you like to tinker.
The Deco line runs from budget friendly WiFi 6 units up to fast WiFi 7 models, and it usually costs noticeably less than the premium eero and Netgear systems.
The app is a little busier than eero’s, but the payoff is more control and a lower price.

WiFi 6 vs WiFi 7: do you need the newest
WiFi 7 is the current standard, but you do not always need it.
If your internet plan is under about 1 gigabit and you mostly stream and browse, a WiFi 6 or 6E mesh saves money and works great.
Buy WiFi 7 if you pay for a very fast plan, have many devices, or want the system to last several years without feeling dated.
