Bose SoundLink Revolve, a Refurbished Only Buy
Bose has stopped selling the SoundLink Revolve and the SoundLink Revolve+ as new products. Both exist today only as Bose Certified Refurbished units, and Bose backs every refurbished product with a one year warranty.
That still leaves the Bose SoundLink Revolve as the right answer to one specific problem: you want full sound on a counter with almost no room on it.
I keep a Revolve on my master bathroom counter and a Revolve+ in the beach house bathroom. They run every morning while we shower and get ready.
Does Bose still sell the SoundLink Revolve new?
No. The portable speaker category on bose.com lists seven models today: the SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen, the SoundLink Micro 2nd Gen, the SoundLink Plus, the SoundLink Max, the SoundLink Home, the Bose Portable Smart Speaker and the S1 Pro+ PA system.
None of them is a Revolve.
One of them still does 360 degree sound. The Bose Portable Smart Speaker sits outside the SoundLink line, and it fires in every direction the way the Revolve did.
Bose lists it at $349 down from $399.
The catch is the rating. Bose gives it IPX4, which covers splashes and sprays and stops short of a dunk, with no dust rating at all.
It also weighs 2.34 pounds, more than a Revolve+.
Bose has not posted a discontinued notice for the Revolve, so absence from the store is the signal you read.
Three signals line up. The Revolve is gone from the category grid, it has no URL anywhere in the bose.com product sitemap, and the only live Revolve pages sit inside the refurbished store.
The support pages add dates. Bose lists the first generation SoundLink Revolve as sold from 2017 to 2021, while the Revolve II and Revolve+ II support pages both say sold from 2021 with no closing year printed.
How do the Revolve and Revolve+ compare?
The Revolve+ II is taller, plays louder and runs longer. The Revolve II is shorter, lighter and easier to fit.

Both models share the same IP55 water and dust rating, the same Bluetooth 4.2 radio and the same USB Micro B charging port.
That last spec matters in 2026, because the cable that charges your phone will not fit either speaker.
Bose rates the wireless range on both at up to 30 feet.
Who should buy which one?
Buy the Revolve II for a tight counter
It stands 5.97 inches tall and 3.24 inches across.
It weighs 1.46 pounds.
The Revolve and Revolve+ are the two I keep around the house, and the shape is why. They are tall and narrow, so they claim a small slice of counter.
The basic SoundLink is the one I skip. It comes in a lot of attractive colors and it does not have a full enough sound.
Buy the Revolve+ II for a bigger room
It runs 17 hours, four more than the Revolve II, and it adds a carrying handle.
Bose says the larger model plays at higher volume and fills a room better than the Revolve II.
Mine handles the same bathroom job at the beach house.
Buy the SoundLink Flex if it will get wet
The Flex 2nd Gen is the closest thing Bose sells new to the Revolve on price and size, and it carries an IP67 rating.

What does Bose sell in place of the Revolve?
Two live speakers split the job the Revolve used to do on its own.
Want the 360 degree sound: the Bose Portable Smart Speaker is the one that still fires in every direction, at $349 down from $399.
Want it where things get wet: the SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen carries IP67, runs 12 hours and weighs 1.291 pounds.
Six of those seven models fit a room in your house. The S1 Pro+ is a PA system built for live performers.

The SoundLink Home is the one to watch. Bose’s own FAQ says it is not designed to withstand exposure to liquid and tells you to keep it out of the bathroom.
That rules it out for the job the Revolve was doing on your counter.
One more warning about those numbers.
Bose’s comparison widget lists the SoundLink Plus at 3.29 pounds and 9.1 inches wide.
The spec table on that same product page says 3.373 pounds and 11.169 inches wide.
The SoundLink Max splits the same way, with the widget at 4.7 pounds and the spec table at 4.9 pounds.
Trust the product page spec table every time.
How does the Revolve work as a bathroom speaker?
The photo above is one of my counters. The Sonos Move on the left sounds excellent and weighs a lot more, and the Revolve on the right takes a much narrower slice of granite.
I bought more than $3,000 of portable Bluetooth speakers from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Costco to find the best one for the boat, the beach, the backyard and football tailgates.
The conclusion from all of that: there is no perfect speaker, and the best one depends on your mission.
Sonos and Bose both sound really good and both are less weather friendly than a JBL. On a dry bathroom counter that trade costs you nothing.
My wife prefers the tighter, crisper bass of the Sonos and the Bose. I grew up in the 90s with giant 12 inch subs, so I lean toward the low end on the JBL Boombox.

Is a Bose Certified Refurbished speaker worth buying?
Bose says each refurbished product is inspected, tested and restored to like new condition using genuine Bose parts, and that all refurbished products are backed by a one year warranty.
That is the same one year limited warranty Bose includes with everything it sells new.
Pricing moves around.
When we checked on August 1, 2026, Bose listed the refurbished Revolve II at $135.15 against an original price of $219.
The refurbished Revolve+ II showed $194.65 against an original price of $299.
Bose is running 15 percent off the whole refurbished store, and the fine print on both listings says the offer is valid through August 6, 2026, while supplies last.
Bose’s own banner says the 15 percent comes off at checkout, so read the cart total before you pay.
Bose publishes no price for either speaker after the offer ends, so check the live listing before you buy.
Stock moves too. On the day we looked both refurbished Revolves came in Triple Black only, and the Revolve II listing was flagged as only a few left.

Who should skip the Revolve?
Skip the Revolve if any of this is you.
- You want one cable for everything, because this charges over USB Micro B.
- You want the speaker outdoors or near a pool, because IP55 covers spray and stops short of a dunk.
- You want the newest Bluetooth, because both Revolves run 4.2.
- You want a fresh battery with a known age, which a refurbished unit does not promise.
Any one of those four points you at the SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen instead.
Bose SoundLink Revolve FAQ
Is the Bose SoundLink Revolve discontinued?
Bose has not published a discontinued notice for it. What Bose has done is sell no new Revolve, list none in the portable speaker category, and offer both sizes through the refurbished store only.
Is the Bose SoundLink Revolve waterproof?
No. Bose rates the Revolve II and Revolve+ II at IP55, which covers dust and water spray.
Every current SoundLink portable except the Home carries IP67, which is a real step up. Bose explains IP67 on the SoundLink Max as surviving a drop into roughly 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Keep a Revolve on the counter and away from the tub.
Can you take a Revolve into the shower?
Leave it on the counter and let it play from there.
Cheap in shower speakers sound bad. A real speaker a few feet away beats a plastic puck stuck to the tile every time.
How long does the SoundLink Revolve battery last?
Bose rates the Revolve II at 13 hours per charge and the Revolve+ II at 17 hours.
Both charge over USB Micro B, so hang on to the cable that came in the box.
Is the Revolve+ worth the extra money over the Revolve?
Yes if you want more volume or you want the handle.
The Revolve+ II adds four hours of battery, about 1.3 inches of height and just over half a pound of weight.
For one bathroom or one bedroom, the smaller Revolve II is plenty.
