Which Fitbit Do I Have? How to Find Your Model

Not sure which Fitbit is on your wrist? The fastest answer is printed on the back of the device.

Flip your Fitbit over and look for a five character code that starts with FB and three numbers, like FB523. That code names your exact model.

No code in sight? Open the Google Health app (this used to be the Fitbit app) and tap your profile picture. Your device shows up by its full model name.

My family has owned three different Fitbits over the years, so I know how easy it is to lose track of which model is which.

This guide walks you through every way to name your Fitbit, from the back of the case to the app to the watch settings.

Why it is hard to tell Fitbits apart

Fitbit has sold dozens of models since 2009. Many of them look almost the same from a foot away.

The slim band trackers are the worst for this. An Inspire, a Luxe, and a Charge can all read as “some black Fitbit” at a glance.

That is why the model code beats guessing. It gives you the exact name every time.

The fastest way: read the model code on the back

Every Fitbit ever made has a model code printed on the back of the case.

  1. Take the Fitbit off your wrist.
  2. Turn it over so the back faces you. This is the side that touches your skin.
  3. Look near the charging contacts or the green sensor lights for tiny printed text.
  4. Find the code that starts with FB and has three numbers after it, such as FB523.
  5. Type that code into a search engine. Your model name comes right up.

The text is small and easy to miss. Good light and the zoom on your phone camera make it readable.

How to find your model in the Google Health app

Heads up on the name. The Fitbit app became the Google Health app starting May 19, 2026, so if you cannot find a Fitbit app, that is why. If you want the full story, here is where the Fitbit app went.

Your account, data, and device all carried over with the same login.

  1. Open the Google Health app on your phone.
  2. Tap your profile picture. It sits in a top corner of the screen.
  3. Look under your name. Your paired Fitbit shows up by its full model name.

This only works if your Fitbit is already paired to your phone.

How to find your model in the watch settings

This works if the screen still turns on, even without your phone nearby.

  1. Tap or raise the Fitbit to wake the screen.
  2. Swipe to open Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Scroll down and tap About, sometimes labeled Device Info.
  4. Tap Regulatory Info.
  5. Your model number shows at the top of that screen.

Check your account online or your order history

Do not have the watch handy? Your paper trail still knows.

Sign in at fitbit.com, click the gear icon in the top corner, then open Settings and Devices. Your registered Fitbit is listed there by name.

You can also open the order confirmation email from wherever you bought it. The model name is almost always in the product title.

The original box helps too. The model name is printed on the label on the bottom or side.

The current Fitbit lineup at a glance

If you can see your Fitbit but still are not sure, match it to the shape below.

Model Type How to spot it
Fitbit Air Screenless tracker New for 2026, no display at all, the lowest priced Fitbit
Inspire 3 Slim band tracker Narrow color touchscreen, no side button
Luxe Slim jewelry tracker Narrow dressy band with a metal look, color screen
Charge 6 Band tracker Wider color screen with a button on the side
Versa 4 Square smartwatch Watch sized square face with one side button
Sense 2 Square smartwatch Looks like a Versa 4 but adds stress and skin sensors
Ace LTE Kids smartwatch Made for kids, square face, built in games

Older models like the Versa 2, Charge 5, and Inspire 2 still work and follow the same shapes.

If nothing worked

If the screen is dead and the back code has worn off, your Google account is the surest path. Your order history and registered devices both name the model.

Once you know the model, the rest of the ownership questions get easier, like how long a Fitbit lasts before you need a new one and why your Fitbit battery drains so fast.

People also ask

Where is the model number on a Fitbit?

It is on the back of the case, near the charging contacts or the sensor. Look for a five character code that starts with FB and three numbers, like FB523.

Is the Fitbit app gone?

The Fitbit app became the Google Health app starting May 19, 2026. Your device and history moved over with the same account, and you find your model by tapping your profile picture.

Can I tell my Fitbit model without the app?

Yes. Read the FB code on the back of the case. You can also open Settings on the watch, tap About, then Regulatory Info to see the model number.

Why does knowing my exact model matter?

Bands, chargers, and features differ by model. The exact name means you buy the right accessories and follow the right steps, like reading what the Fitbit symbols mean or fixing why your Fitbit keeps turning off.
